The worship of Panibiswanath starts in Assamese month Puh (Poush). In the Gosai Bihu, the third day of Bohag Bihu there is a tradition called ‘Gosai Phurua’ Festival at Guptakashi Biswanath. This traditional celebration reminds us about 340 years old legacy since 1606 Shakabda. The festivities kick off with the Gosai being walked approximately 5 kilometers from the Shiva temple nestled in Guptakashi Biswanath Ghat to the enchanting Panibhoral village up north. The Gosai returns to the main temple in ‘Kekora Dola’ following the rituals in the evening.
